June 15th, 2009
Mozilla announced that the new version of the browser Mozilla Firefox 3.0.11 was downloaded 150 million times in the first 24 hours of its release.
A few days ago Apple said that Safari 4 has been downloaded 11 million times in the first three days.
“Read a statement by Apple and I decided to answer with our results, shares Asa Dotzler, director at Mozilla.
Perhaps the two companies count the number of automatic updates too. Firefox 3.0.11 was released on June 11 and includes updates mostly security and stability. This is a renewal of Firefox 3, which was launched in June last year and set a world record with its 8 million unique downloads the first day.
