Firefox global share reached a quarter
November 17th, 2009
Net Applications, a company dealing with network statistics announced this week that Firefox has reached a new record. The Mozilla browser now has a 25% share. The information is based on statistics obtained from nearly 40 000 sites. This is a new record and psychological boundary that crosses the Firefox team hoping for even better performance.
Main competitor – Chrome is now gaining strength. Google’s browser is still a modest 3.9 percent market share but the figure is expected to reach 5% by next spring. Whether this will be at the expense of IE or Firefox has yet to become clear.
Far on top is IE with 63.3 percent.
