Logo contest for the mobile version of Firefox

With each passing day the mobile version of Firefox is approaching its final edition, and it seems it’s time for the application information to reach more customers. To that end, Fennec’s team announced a competition to create a badge on your mobile browser that will be featured everywhere – online mozilla.com, page additions, and even on tisharti and stickers. Not talking about a logo and an emblem which reflects most fully the values of Firefox, but transferred to the mobile sphere. The team advises everyone to reflect on abstract topics such as innovation, respect, accessibility, convenience and a web (in terms of equal uebprezhivyavane both the desktop and the mobile version of Firefox). Proposals must be submitted by 16 October and more information on the conditions and technical requirements can be found at:

First Pictures of the New Design of Firefox 3.7

firefox 3.7 new design

Mozilla’s Browser – Firefox – is becoming more popular. Once version 3.5 was released, it rose in the charts and marked a great progress. During this time, Mozilla is already thinking of the next version of Firefox, which will be version 3.7.

There are several ideas for new design of the browser. There are user ideas of Mac and Linux. Here’s what are the planned changes by Mozilla based on various sources:

1. Embracing Glass: The main toolbar and tabs will take effect from the Aero Glass.
2. Page Button: Before tab there will be a button Page.
3. Tools / Bookmark Bar: After the the search engine will be added new button – Tools. You can change the program interface with it. Next to this button will be another who will be responsible for bookmarks.

These are just ideas. It is uncertain whether they will be realized in the new version of the popular browser.

Firefox 3.5 Critical Security Flaw

Mozilla confirmed a critical vulnerability disclosed by Milworm, that could lead to remote code execution.

It is related to the new TraceMonkey JavaScript optimizer and users can mitigate it by temporarily disabling the optimizer by following these steps:

- Enter about:config in the location bar to access advanced preferences.
- Look for javascript.options.jit.content and double click it to set it to false.

Mozilla said that they are already working on a fix for the flaw and it will be released as soon as it becomes available.
